Getting Started & Power Operations

Power On/Off

1. Power On

Press the power button on the display's bottom panel. The system will initialize within 15-20 seconds.

2. Power Off

Hold the power button for 2 seconds. Confirm shutdown when prompted on screen.

Quick Menu Access

Press and hold anywhere on the screen to access the Quick Menu for frequently used tools including:

  • Palette (color selection)
  • Pen/Brush modes
  • Selection tools
  • Undo/Redo functions

Bottom Toolbar Overview

The main toolbar provides access to essential functions:

  • Pen Tool: Draw and write
  • Eraser: Remove content
  • Selection Tool: Select areas
  • Shape Tool: Add shapes
  • Undo/Redo: Reverse actions
  • Palette: Color options
  • Search: Find content
  • Settings: System preferences

Basic Interactive Display Operations

Using the Touch Interface

The Samsung Flip Pro supports multi-touch gestures for intuitive control.

Touch Gestures

  • Single Tap: Select items or activate buttons
  • Double Tap: Open files or applications
  • Long Press: Access context menus
  • Drag: Move objects across the screen
  • Pinch: Zoom in/out on content
  • Two-finger Swipe: Navigate between pages

Multi-User Capability

The display supports up to 20 simultaneous touch points, allowing multiple users to interact with the screen simultaneously.

Touch Calibration

If touch accuracy issues occur:

  1. Go to Settings → Display → Touch Calibration
  2. Follow the on-screen calibration points
  3. Complete the 9-point calibration process

Writing and Drawing Features

Writing and Drawing

  1. Select Pen Tool: Tap the pen icon on the side toolbar
  2. Choose Color: Tap color palette to select pen color
  3. Adjust Thickness: Use slider to change pen width (1-10 levels)
  4. Write/Draw: Use finger or stylus directly on screen

Erasing Content

  • Partial Erase: Select eraser tool and swipe over content
  • Clear Page: Tap trash icon to clear entire screen
  • Palm Rejection: Place palm on screen while writing - only stylus input registers

Advanced Drawing Features

Highlighter Tool

The end of pen is the highlighter. Use it to emphasize important content with transparent color overlay.

Shape Recognition

Draw rough shapes and the system automatically converts them to perfect geometric forms.

  • Use consistent pressure for uniform line thickness
  • Enable palm rejection for comfortable writing posture
  • Use different colors to organize information visually

Navigation and File Management

Navigation

  • Create New Page: Tap '+' button at bottom
  • Switch Pages: Swipe left/right or use page thumbnails
  • Zoom: Pinch to zoom in/out (up to 300%)
  • Pan: Two-finger drag to move around zoomed content

File Management

1. Save Work

Tap save icon → Choose location (USB/Network/Cloud)

2. File Formats

PDF, PNG, or Samsung's .IWB format

3. Open Files

File menu → Browse → Select file

4. Share

Export via email, QR code, or network drive

File Organization Best Practices

  • Create folders for different projects or departments
  • Use consistent naming conventions
  • Regular backup to network drive
  • Delete temporary files after sessions

Screen Mirroring - Wireless Methods

Method 1: Wireless Connection (Wi-Fi Direct)

Windows Laptop

On Flip Pro:

  • Tap Home → Screen Mirroring
  • Select "PC Wireless Connection"
  • Note the display name shown

On Windows Laptop:

  • Press Windows + K keys
  • Select the Flip Pro from available displays
  • Enter PIN if prompted

Mac Laptop

On Flip Pro:

  • Enable Screen Mirroring mode
  • Ensure AirPlay is activated in settings

On Mac:

  • Click AirPlay icon in menu bar
  • Select Samsung Flip Pro
  • Enter code displayed on Flip

Troubleshooting Wireless Connection

  • Ensure both devices are on the same network
  • Disable firewall temporarily if connection fails
  • Update wireless drivers on laptop
  • Restart both devices if issues persist

Method 2: HDMI Cable Connection

  1. Connect HDMI cable to laptop
  2. Connect other end to HDMI port on Flip Pro
  3. On Flip Pro: Press Source button → Select HDMI 1
  4. On laptop: Configure display settings (Duplicate/Extend)

Method 3: USB-C Connection (if available)

  1. Connect USB-C cable between laptop and Flip Pro
  2. Display automatically detects and mirrors
  3. Provides power delivery to laptop (up to 65W)

Wired Connection Setup

1. Check Cable Connections:

  • HDMI cable from desktop to Flip Pro HDMI input
  • Or DisplayPort to HDMI adapter if needed

2. On Flip Pro:

  • Press "Source" on remote or display
  • Select appropriate HDMI input 1
  • Adjust display settings if needed

3. On Desktop PC:

  • Right-click desktop → Display Settings
  • Choose "Duplicate" or "Extend" displays
  • Set resolution to 3840×2160 (4K) for best quality

Import & Export Content

Import

Import content by using Screen Mirroring and browsing with the connected device.

Available Import Sources:

  • Mobile: Via SMARTVIEW+ app
  • PC: Via HDMI/USB-C connection or screen mirroring
  • Internet: Browse web directly
  • Workspace: Access cloud storage
  • File Browser: USB drives and network locations

Quick Screen Button: Access import options instantly from the bottom toolbar

Export

Share a roll by using email and other features.

Export Methods:

  • E-Mail: Send directly to recipients
  • Print: Print to connected printers
  • USB: Save to USB storage device
  • Network Drive: Save to shared network location
  • Mobile: Transfer via Samsung Signage Mobile app
  • Screen Share: Share display with other devices

Block Screen: Hide content temporarily while preparing materials

Multiple devices (PC/tablet/mobile) can be wirelessly connected to the Flip, whatever the operating system.

How to Get Connected:

For Mobile Devices:

  1. Install Samsung Signage Mobile app
  2. Connect to the same network as Flip Pro
  3. Enter URL or scan QR code displayed on Flip
  4. Start sharing content

For PC/Laptop:

  1. Open web browser
  2. Enter the URL shown on Flip Pro screen
  3. Follow on-screen connection instructions
  4. Begin screen mirroring

  • Position Sorting: Arrange devices alphabetically or by custom order
  • Expand Screen: Make any device full screen
  • Close Screen: Remove devices from display
  • Refresh: Update connected device list

Button Panel Functions (Left to Right):

  1. Power: Power On/Off
  2. Block Screen Off: Disable screen blocking
  3. Screen Saver On/Off: Toggle screensaver
  4. Show/Hide Floating Menu: Access quick tools on full screen
  5. Volume Up/Down: Adjust audio levels
  6. Note On/Note Off: Toggle annotation mode
  7. Block Screen: Black Screen On/Off
  8. Freeze Frame: Run or Stop the Freeze Frame
  9. Home: Show/Hide Home screen

Quick Button Tips:

  • Use Block Screen when preparing sensitive content
  • Freeze Frame is useful for discussing static content
  • Floating Menu provides access to tools in full-screen mode
  • Volume controls affect both internal and external speakers

LED Indicators:

  • Green: Power on, normal operation
  • Orange: Standby mode
  • Red: Error or maintenance required
  • Blinking: Processing or updating

Roll Browser & Content Management

Roll Browser

Open, browse and manage rolls via the Roll Browser.

Roll Browser Features:

  • Browse and open desired roll: Navigate through saved content visually
  • Change title by selecting it: Rename rolls for better organization
  • View by preferred mode: All/Pen Mode/Brush Mode
  • Sort options: By name or date

Managing Rolls:

Edit Mode:

Change your Roll Browser to Edit mode to select multiple rolls for export or deletion in one go.

Organization Best Practices:

  • Use descriptive names with dates
  • Create folders for different projects
  • Archive old rolls regularly
  • Delete drafts and temporary files

Form Templates:

Access pre-designed templates for common use cases:

  • Meeting agendas
  • Project planning boards
  • SWOT analysis templates
  • Calendar layouts

  • All: Display all saved rolls
  • By Date: Sort chronologically
  • By Name: Sort alphabetically

Viewers & Source Window

The window has a variety of functions.

Window Control Options:

  • Rotate the screen 90°: Change orientation for different content
  • Adjust the volume: Control audio output levels
  • Capture a screenshot: Save current display content
  • Change the imported image to a drawing: Convert for editing (if can be erased)
  • Freeze/Unfreeze screen: Pause display updates
  • Change the position of the window or change it to full screen: Flexible layout options
  • Close: Exit the viewer window

PIP (Picture in Picture) Controls:

  • Zoom in/out: Press +/- buttons
  • Move the page: Press directional arrows (◄►▲▼)
  • Percentage view: Adjust from 1/10 to 100%

Brush Mode Features:

Create watercolours or oil paintings using an actual brush simulation:

  • Adjust color transparency and brightness
  • Select from various brush styles
  • Mix colors on canvas
  • Control water/paint density

Best Practices & Troubleshooting

Best Practices for Daily Use

Before Starting:

  • Clean screen with microfiber cloth
  • Check stylus battery level
  • Verify network connectivity
  • Test audio if presenting with sound

During Use:

  • Save work every 5-10 minutes
  • Use Block Screen when preparing content
  • Enable Do Not Disturb for presentations
  • Keep backup stylus available

After Session:

  • Save all work to network drive
  • Clear temporary files
  • Log out of personal accounts
  • Return to home screen
  • Clean screen if needed

Common Troubleshooting

Touch Not Responding:

  • Check if screen lock is active
  • Verify touch is enabled in settings
  • Recalibrate touch sensors
  • Clean screen surface

Cannot Mirror Screen:

  • Ensure devices on same network
  • Disable firewall temporarily
  • Update graphics drivers
  • Try alternative connection method

Poor Display Quality:

  • Adjust resolution settings
  • Use HDMI 2.0 or higher cable
  • Update firmware
  • Check cable connections
